Breastwork Deck
We are looking at some of the crew on the Breastwork Deck circa 1898. Clearly visible is the doorway to the flying and shield decks. Also visible are two sightholes (to right of top of door) & possibly the flying deck support from the turret central pin.
Obviously two of the stokers and the chef have brought their tools of trade on deck for the photo. Walter Bassett, in the front row, is accompanied by his dog. Standing at end right is John Dunn. photo courtesy of Aust War Memorial AWM952.002
