Launched 28 December 1871, completed 1876.

Shown above with HMS Duncan between 1878 & 1888 when the breastwork modifications were made by extending the breastwork aft & to the sides of the ship. HMS Hydra was a tender for HMS Duncan between 1878 & 1888.
